Intelligence Analysts (Production & Customer Service) £21,196, rising to £23,977 in October 2007 + first year bonus What you’ll be doing This will depend on your focus, and the team you work in. There are a huge variety of roles, with the potential to develop specialist skills in, for example, a particular subject area or geographical territory, or in driving through technological enhancements to our processes. Intelligence Analysts (Technical) Rather than be involved in direct analysis, these specialists focus on actual data delivery, making sure we have access to the kind of data we need, and that it’s delivered in ever more creative and productive ways. This could involve the management of our complex collection and processing systems, or the research and development of new analytical techniques or sources of intelligence. Intelligence requirements and telecommunications technology are evolving rapidly, and we have to keep ahead of developments. You must have an interest in telecommunications capabilities, an eye for detail and excellent problem solving and customer support skills. For additional entry requirements, see below. Support and Training There’s no training or course that can truly prepare you for this work before you join. However, a structured on-the-job training program - consisting of core training followed by tailored courses - will give you the skills you need. Entry Requirements You must be a British citizen with either • A 2:1 degree or a predicted 2:1 degree. Please note, even with post-graduate qualifications, we will expect a 2:1 minimum Or • Experience gained within an intelligence environment, including HM forces, within the last ten years In addition, we look for a keen interest in current affairs, sound judgment and an inquisitive mind which can think critically about the problem being tackled.
