It also provides a proactive and reactive response to counter terrorism issues, including the prevention and disruption of terrorist activity and the tracking and prosecution of those involved. This is a massive undertaking and one which you could influence in one of these exciting and strategic management roles. As the Head of CTU, you will lead, co-ordinate, facilitate and support all aspects of counter terrorism capability and capacity across the North East region, as part of the national counter terrorism infrastructure. As Detective Superintendent in the CTU, your understanding of this area of criminal investigation, intelligence and operations will equip you to lead and develop a specialised department of Police Officers and staff. In both roles, you will have the opportunity to work with colleagues and partners both nationally and internationally. For both posts, applications are invited from substantive Officers and those wishing to apply on promotion.
